Subsequent is doing a fine job of offering up cutting-edge sounds from the UK underground. This 13th EP is a various artists offering with just that on both sides. Aerofunk's 'Idea' kicks off with warped bass and drilling synths that hark back to golden-era tech house. 4D gets more cosmic on his silvery '1 Step Bck 2 Steps Fws' and new school stalwart Josh Baker gets all twitchy and paranoid on the jittery 'Somebody's Watching Me.' Last of all is the gritty and grimy tech bumper that is Croft's 'Levi'. This is fresh club music ready to do damage.
